'ASOCIACION DE ARTE Y CULTURA MARBELLA'

is a private, non-profit initiative created in order to actively contribute to the support of arts and culture. Their aim is to help all citizens and visitors to the Costa del Sol to enjoy the rich and diverse cultural heritage and the vitality of creation. ACM organizes conferences, concerts, cultural trips, guided visits and social activities that will bring together like-minded people of all nationalities who believe in the need for the promotion of arts and culture. They need the support of our society who considers that, as in all major cities, we must take an active part and collaborate in creating this flourishing platform.

ACM was founded in September 2004 by Lorraine Powell (President) and Angela Behrendt and is a registered national non-profit institution funded by private sectors under Organic Law 1/2002 and Decree 152/2002. This entitles ACM to act as a legal entity. According to its Statutes, the institution´s aim is to promote, develop and perform social and cultural activities. By being created as a cultural management organization, a large part of its autonomy is based on own funding, with direct income and private sponsorship main sources. They invite all persons and institutions who believe in the key role of culture to support them in this dialogue.

Since its inception ACM has gathered over 90 members of different nationalities including artists, concert pianists, writers and musicians who all share and enjoy this common interest. We are extremely social and enjoy ourselves around cultural activities.

ACM meet the first Wednesday of each month for cocktails at Magna Café, Magna Marbella Golf, Nueva Andalucia, between 8 – 10 pm . We also organise monthly dinners at selected restaurants.

ACM has organised several concerts the first being with the The Berlin Philharmonic String Octet, Piano and violin Concerts and a Viennese Gala;

Cultural trips including a private guided tour of the Picasso Museum in Malaga; Cordoba; Jerez; “Caviar” in Rio Frio; “Jamon” in Villanueva de Cordoba. “Winetasting” in Ronda.

Lectures on various subjects –“Andalucia and its Patrimony”; “ Malaga and its Cultural Infrastructure”.

Music Festivals - Jerez–Flamenco Festival; Fez , Morocco-Sacred Music Festival; Granada – International Music and Dance Festival; Wonfurt Music Festival.

We also have a great interest in food and wine and select the best restaurants for our monthly dinners at unbeatable prices with entertainment. We also organise cookery demonstrations and winetastings.

Apart from their own organised events, ACM also provides members with a monthly bulletin of selected cultural activities and invitations to special events.

MEMBERSHIP :

Initial Joining Fee: 25 Euros per person.
Annual Membership : Single 100 Euros. Couple: 150 Euros.
